Generalised hydraulic model sensitivity to the input data
In the generalised hydraulic theory model Smith and Sun (1987) considered an incompressible flow approaching a ridge with uniform speed. The upstream stability profile consists of: a) two-layers, each of constant stability (two-layer model), b) lower neutral layer covered with stable layer (one-layer model, Long 1953) and c) continuously stratification case (Smith, 1985). The aim in this paper is to show how much the stability and wind speed as input data in these three models influence the predicted values: the upper layer depth, the Froude number or the effective mountain height. Shown models sensitivity demands great caution with input data and stability determination is rather difficult.
