Comparison of general scoring methods for correct answers in the MSCEIT – emotion management branch in two different samples
One of the main questions in ability-based emotional intelligence tests is the problem of the correct answer. Mayer- Caruso- Salovey Emotional Intelligence test (MSCEIT – Mayer, Salovey, Caruso, Sitarenius, 2003) is a first attempt for measurement EI according to objective performance. Two samples (121 high school students and 132 supervisors in different organization in Croatia), answered on MSCEIT - manage emotion scale. We compared different methods for determination the correct answer, with particular regard to consensus scoring methods. The main aim of the study was to explore which of the different methods of calculating the correct answer (consensus proportion, consensus mode, lenient mode) can be used as best estimation of correct answer.
