„Neolitička 'koine' i minojska Kreta – prijedlog za razmišljanje“,
One of the topics worth considering is a series of similar religious and cultic patterns which appear in SE European Neolithic cultures and again in Minoan Crete. In spite of considerable time and spatial distances, the similarities are conspicuous, e.g. the construction of sacred spaces with the bench for sacred objects, made of clay and beaten earth, positioned by the wall. Parallels between early Cucuteni site of Sabatinovka (Ucraine) and Cnossos can be found. Goddess figurines and horns of consecration were venerated in both spaces. Another parallel can be seen in the figurines of bull-raiders in Crete and again in the Gumelniţa A2 culture (site Cascioarele, Romania). The figure sitting between the bull’s horns had a long history during the Neolithic before reappearing in the Minoan civilization. One possible explanation may be that religious structures, as seen in Crete, descended from the substrate of Neolithic “koine”, which created a Bronze Age Civilization in Crete, while diminishing in SE Europe.
