Genetic and environmental contribution to the individual differences in aggressiveness
The aim of this study was to investigate genetic and some nonshared environmental influances on individual differences in agressiveness. A sample of 160 twin pairs completed a) a questionnaire of aggressiveness (A-87, Žužul, 1987 ; b) a sibling inventory of differential experience (SIDE, Plomin & Daniels, 1984). The analysis suggests a substantial genetic contribution to the individual differences in aggressiveness. Also, two scales of the SIDE Inventory (maternal affection and peer deliquency) proved to be the significant predictors of aggressiveness in adolescents.
