Genetic and environmental contribution to individual differences in aggressiveness: Exploring some nonshared environmental factors
The aim of the study is to investiagate genetic and some nonshared environmental influences on individual differences in aggressiveness. The sample of 160 pairs of monozygotic and pairs of dizygotic twins are assessed by the means of the Aggressiveness Questionnaire (A-87, Žužul, 1987) and a Sibling Inventory of Differential Experience (SIDE, Daniels and Plomin, 1984). The analysis suggests a substantional genetic contribution on individual differences in aggressiveness, with heritability indices ranging from .24 to .76 for diferent A-87 scales. Also, the regression of MZ twin aggressiveness diference on SIDE scales found two significant factors of nonshered environment, maternal affection and peer deliquency.
