A dose-dependent relationship between quetiapine and QTc interval
Quetiapine is a second-generation antipsychotic and one of its seri- ous side effects is QTc prolongation, which is related to increased risk of developing life-threatening arrhythmias, particularly torsades de pointes.he following case suggests a possible relationship between QTc in- terval and the quetiapine dose as a result of successive measurements of the length of QTc intervals during the gradual reduction of the quetiapine dose (and escitalopram) in a patient with prolonged QTc interval. Our observation indicates that the link between the length of the QTc interval and quetiapine dose exists, even within the recommended therapeutic dose range.
