The Application of Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences in Teaching Musically Gifted Pupils Instrument Playing
Teaching musically gifted pupils instrument playing is a complex task for every teacher. The teacher-pupil relationship is also specific, as well as the teaching methods. It is thus the teachers’ duty to find the ways in how to teach instruments playing to facilitate learning. As one possibility of alleviating, one can incorporate the knowledge of Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences in the education of musically gifted pupils. The theory and its educational applications are exceptionally acceptable because they offer the possibility to completely individualise the teaching process. This paper shows the possibilities of the Theory of Multiple Intelligences adaptation in teaching musically gifted pupils instrument playing, with the accent on piano playing classes, but equally applicable in teaching all instrument playing.
