Giftedness Assessment in the Visual Arts Among Students in Teacher and Preschool Students
This paper describes the process of identifyng artistically gifted students. In this study we compiled a new list for identifying the artistically gifted, based on existing lists creating by Chetelat and Szekely. We have enriched the list with additional criteria that are important in identifying artistic talent in adulthood. The study involved students of the Teachers and Early and Preschool Education courses, who were followed for one semester during the "Basics of Visual Arts" classes. Our results show that the most gifted students attend an elective subject "Painting" (40%), while in the Teacher`s program there were 18% of gifted students and 11% in the Early and Preschool Education program.
