Relation between religion and civil and political rights among young Croats

The paper examines the impact of religiosity (independent variable) on attitudes towards civil and political rights (dependent variable) among young Croats based on the data of the Croatian research “Religion and Human Rights” (2014), conducted within the international empirical research project “Religion and Human Rights“ (2012-2019) on a population of young secondary school students from 17 to 19 years of age. The paper presents attitudes of the student population towards civil and political rights, as well as a correlation between religious convictions and practices, and attitudes toward the civil and political rights and the youths´ view on democracy and their value orientation. The final part draws conclusions for the improvement of human rights education among the youth in Croatia.
