Synthesis of Curved Beam-Shaping Metasurfaces

We propose a two-step procedure for synthesizing curved beam-shaping metasurfaces. First we simplify the problem by projecting the desired field distribution from a virtual plane onto the outer boundary of the metastructure structure. We use this to determine the initial metasurface impedance distribution. In the second step, we optimize the metasurface design using a developed Moment Method-based program as core of the optimization procedure. Measurement results are compared to design expectations to verify the procedure.
