Are other senses of the blind really enhanced?

There is a lot of evidence of the existence of anatomical and functional changes within the brain of those with ocular blindness. Different studies on this topic were based on a different methodology and variety of measures which resulted in somehow inconsistent findings regarding the exact nature of such changes.
