Fatigue Life Estimation of Machine Parts and Structural Elements

An improvement of the equivalent stress concept in conventional fatigue life estimation is presented in this paper by introducing in proper formulae the damage sum factor different from unit. For the spectra described by Gaussian random process, the novael formula for a fast fatigue life estimation is presented. In this formula, the fatigue life depends only on spectrum density. For the first time the explicit formula for a fatigue life prediction of a statically prestressed parts subjected to operational conditions of load, i.e. to the acting of the aritrary shaped stress spectrum is derived.
