Asymptotic analysis of the nonsteady micropolar fluid flow through a thin pipe
This is a joint work with Prof. Igor Pažanin and Prof. Michal Beneš. In this talk we will present a rigorous mathematical analysis of the model describing the nonsteady micropolar fluid flow in a thin pipe with several numerical examples. The theory of micropolar fluids was introduced in the 60's by Eringen to describe the microstructure of the fluid and its effect on the flow, not captured by the classical Navier-Stokes model. Due to the practical importance of the micropolar fluid flows through pipe-like domains in numerous applications, the main one being blood flow modeling in biomechanics, the presentation will be aimed at an audience interested in both the mathematical and engineering aspects of the model.
