Shape gradient method - application to optimal design on annulus

A multiple state optimal design problem for stationary diffusion equation with two isotropic phases is considered. Aim is to determine distribution of phases such that energy functional is maximized. Gradient method based on the first order shape derivative is implemented and we have observed stable convergence.
