Aspects of Schwinger-Dyson model description of pseudoscalar mesons at T > 0
Light pseudoscalar mesons are described simultaneously as quark-antiquark bound states and as approximate Goldstone bosons of dynamical chiral symmetry breaking in QCD, thanks to the correct chiral behavior of the consistently truncated set of Schwinger-Dyson equations. As temperature T rises towards the pseudocritical temperature of QCD, the chiral symmetry is restored through the transition of the crossover. In turn, the chiral symmetry restoration drives a partial restoration of the U_A(1) symmetry, signaled by the drop of the eta' mass, but without the unwanted drop of the eta mass if realistically massive quark condensates are used. The transition temperatures in the non-strange and strange quark sectors are synchronized by the coupling to the Polyakov loop.
