Knowledge management in the process of globalization
Organizations, which have based their way to success on the ability to create new knowledge and cognition, and the utilization of the existing, often come up in literature as case studies. The ability of an organization to improve existing skills and to acquire new ones forms its most tenable competitive advantage. Knowledge management becomes a critical factor in development of modern organizations. Organizations do not compete only with products and services but with methods and knowledge to create and develop new products and services. It is common belief in developed countries that development and competitiveness on the international market depend on a knowledge level and professionalism of employees, who were trained by a particular “country-system”. Therefore, development and competitiveness depend on the culture of its citizens. The future is in hands of those who are commonly called “knowledge workers”.
