MEASURING OF THE INFLUENCE OF VISUAL PERCEPTION ON THE EFFICIENCY OF ERGONOMICALLY DESIGNED WORKSTATION USING A LIST OF MULTIPLE PARAMETERS
Ergonomically shaped workstation in garment industry mainly equals to greater efficiency. Numerous factors are taken into consideration when designing such workstation and are treated as variables not depending on time. This is particularly true for anthropometric measures, areas of sight, ranges of reach and working conditions. Working capabilities of a man depend on the above-mentioned factors (anthropometric measures, etc.) but they vary to some extent during working hours. Ergonomically shaped workstation is designed mainly for standardized characteristics of the worker taking into consideration optimal perceptual abilities of an &#8220 ; average&#8221 ; worker. Human perception is a variable depending on time which implies both area of sight and range of reach are time dependent (area of sight and range of reach here refer to sizes used by a man at a certain time and not to physically determined sizes). When creating an ergonomically designed workstation numerous parameters are taken into consideration. An ergonomically designed workstation is generally created for standard user characteristics taking into consideration "average" visual perception ability of the user and also invariable in time. Visual perception of a workstation user depends on the working hours and this paper deals with the tasting of that perception using a multiple parameter list. The analisys of these parameters is based on three parameters, marked as "hedonistic value", "activation value" and "perceptual variation". This paper elaborates on time dependency of human perceptual characteristics and implications on evaluating the ergonomic characteristics of a workstation.
