Applying Total Quality Management in Retail Industry
The concept of the Total Quality Management (TQM) was developed in the 1950 but it dominated the world markets in the 1980. Total Quality Management, is a method by which management and employees can become involved in the continuous improvement of the goods and services production. TQM has become the basis for many activities and also can be defined as a set of principles. The Total Quality Management business strategy is readily adaptable to the retail industry. In a TQM organization, everyone is both a customer and a supplier. The business environment in which the retail industry operates enables TQM elements to satisfy the customers’ needs completely and participate in suppliers operations.
