Nanoparticles niosomes as a vectors for delivery of hydrophilic compounds
A niosomes are a non-ionic surfactant-based vesicle. The aim of this study was to encapsulate Niacinamide as a water-soluble compound and Caffeine as a hydrophilic but poor water-soluble compound in the hydrogel, as well as in niosomes and to monitor the release of these active components from the mentioned systems. Niosomes were prepared by thin film hydration method using Span 20 and Cholesterol in a 70:30 molar ratio and were characterized for size, stability and in vitro release of actives. Franz diffusion cell was used to monitor release of niacinamide and caffeine from investigated systems. The obtained results show that the diffusion is faster in the presence of niosomes as carriers for both actives and that these nanoparticles represent a special vector for the transfer of hydrophilic active components.
