Breast cancer in pregnancy. Motherhood at the cost of living - case report -
Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide. It is the second most common malignancy diagnosed during pregnancy, with an incidence of 1 in 1000-3000 pregnancies. The incidence is rising over the years because of ever more common delay in childbearing. It is usually diagnosed at more advanced stages compared to non-pregnant women. Tumors tend to be highly proliferative, poorly differentiated and with low endocrine responsiveness. The most common problem that physicians have with the patients is communication. One of the leading difficulties is finding out true information. Patients often have different urges to hide real problems and thus place doctors in an unenviable positions.
