Risk factors in the genesis of hearing impairments

Out of 446 questioned children 290 or 65% were characterised as risk children with regard to hearing impairments. The degree of risk was related to hereditary factor (43.1%). The perceptive hearing loss has been established in only one out of 290 risk children which is 0.34% or in relation to the total number of questioned children 0.22%. The cummulative effect of unfavourable factors has not yet been noted. Further research will be broadened to high risk infants whose lives are imperilled.
