False indigo ( Amorpha fruticosa L. )- Invasive plant species in Croatia and fight strategie
Propylene tree shelters, which were introduced into practice by the English forester Graham Tuley in 1979, were tested in several localities in Croatia in order to establish the degree to which the negative impact of weeds, particularly of false indigo, on the young growth of pedunculate oak can be lessened. According to research of several years, ahelters have proven to be both effective and ecologically and economicaly acceptable. Costs have been lessened, the use of pesticides (herbicides and fungicides) has been reduced or completely abolished, the survival of seedlings has increased and the height increment accelerated.
