Emotional intelligence and sport achievement
In this paper the research of relationships of emotional intelligence and sport achievement is presented. The sample of 210 male sophomore students of kinesiology was measured by 16 factors emotional intelligence scale TEI-136 (Takšić, 1998) and six-point measure of sport achievement. The results were analysed by the least squares regression analysis and robust regression analysis by Momirović. The least squares regression analysis resulted with insignificant multiple correlation. The less sensitive to the degrees of freedom, robust regression analysis produced small (0.20) but significant multiple correlation. The relationship is mainly formed by the results of A-1 and D-2 scales measuring the disability to perceive the emotions in other's behavior and the capacity to control feelings in the self. Ambiguous results are explained by moderate reliability of emotional intelligence scales and restricted variance in sport achievement of kinesiology students.
