Determination of copper, cobalt and nickel in Teucrium species growing in Croatia
Copper, cobalt and nickel concentrations were determined by the Zeeman graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (ZGFAAS) in dried aerial parts of the wild and cultivated Teucrium species (Lamiaceae) wide-spread in Croatia: T. arduini L., T. chamaedrys L., T. flavum L., T. montanum L., T. polium L. and T. scordium L. subsp. scordioides Schreb. The investigated species contained Cu 9.30-51.20 mg/kg, Co 0.02-4.31 mg/kg and Ni 0.61-9.65 mg/kg of dry drug. Higher concentrations were found in cultivated plants than in the wild ones, with the exception of the representatives of wild T. montanum with the by far highest quantities of all metal ions examined.
