Grafika i štafelajno slikarstvo u Dubrovniku
According to published archive data the author considers that the painters who gathered in Dubrovnik painting school did not use prints as models for their work. From archive descriptions we can conclude that some themes in the second half of 16th century posesed by collectors in Dubrovnik were made after prints. The picture "Holy Family with St. John and angels" from the Dubrovnik museum was made according to Jan Sadeler's engraving, but the original model was Bartholomaus Springer's work (1546-1611.)The engraving entitled "Madonna with the Child" from Pavao Esterhazy's book "Origin of pictures with Holy Madonna in the whole world" (1960.) represents the theme from St. Mary's church in Dubrovnik. Original picture was not preserved. According to this engraving the author concludes that the picture from 16th century was very close to the work by venetian painter Francesco da Santacroce (1584-1616.)
