Sažetak
We describe the Common Software Platform for interactive virtual characters developed within the IST project InterFace. Collaborative research effort has put numerous demands on the development of a common platform, and these demands had to be reconciled with the most important requirement: to have a working system with optimal performance integrated as a result of the project. The initial effort put into designing this common platform is already paying off in terms of easier collaboration within the project. More interesting from an external point of view is the Integrated Common Software Platform, which we regard as a practical implementation platform for interactive virtual characters on the Internet. After presenting the initial requirements, analysis and design choices, this platform is described in detail.
