Influence of microenvironment humidity and temperature in the artificial aging test on the stability of playing card
This paper aims to determine the infl uence of humidity and temperature exposure of samples, on the stability of playing cards prints at controlled microenvironment in the artifi cial aging test. Playing cards printing substrate is a special paper regarding their specifi c purpose, and thus such substrate should be more resistant to light, moisture, bending, and general wear. Prints of yellow and black colour step like wedges ranging from 10% to 100% screen value were made by off set presses. Printed and unprinted paper substrates were exposed to artifi cially ageing test in a test chamber according to ISO 5630-3 standard, during 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 days. Samples were exposed to moist heat treatment method at temperature of 80°C and 65 % RH. Mentioned microenvironment conditions have the eff ect of artifi cial accelerating aging. The results of measured colorimetric characteristics showed visible diff erences between the aged and non-aged prints and paper substrate. The results show that ΔE* for yellow prints is bigger than for black prints
