Pathetic Speculation about the Real Site and Some Events that Might Have Occurred around It

Mratinje dam was erected in 1975. Its concrete arch is the fifth biggest of its kind in the world. About 45 kilometres of the Piva river canyon were drowned under the accumulation lake. Before the hydro power plant was fully operational, Piva Monastery together with frescoes was stone by stone moved to about a hundred metres higher position. In summer 2009, the montenegrin Ministry of Spatial Planning and Environmantal Protection has launched an open international competition for development of the Mratinje dam area, with an aim to initiate tourist development of the Montenegrin northern regions. First prize was given to the project by IVANIŠIN. KABASHI. ARHITEKTI from zagreb, Croatia. The project entitled Poetic/Pathetic proposed subsequent construction of five "Magnifiers of Natural and Technological Elements" that would emphasize the given atmospheres of the site.
