Mobile Agents in Use: Performance Issue

Mobile agent technology is rather new and promising technology which still looks forward for its full deployment in real applications. Mobile agents have a number of interesting features, and several of them are related to the performance. Many researcher claims that agents can improve overall system performance. This article describes application, which can gain from agents usage and where agents are responsible for content distribution and maintenance of distributed Web servers. The article also evaluates performances of two popular agent platforms Voyager and Grasshopper in experimental network with adjustable network bandwidths.
