Jaketa Palmotić Dionorić, Dubrovnik nobleman, writer and diplomat
The political and personal life of the Dubrovnik nobleman, diplomat and writer Jaketa Palmotić Dionorić (? - 1680), was extremely dynamic and abounded in almost dramatic plots. He lived and performed delicate diplomatic duties in the most difficult period of Dubrovnik's history after the Great Cherry in 1667. On the topic of preserved written sources, the fact is visible that Jaketa Plamotić had the talent of an excellent diplomat and a cultured personality, and public activity and his political engagement were what Jaketa was recognized for in the historical reality of Dubrovnik XVII. century, the most difficult post-earthquake, but at the same time heroic period in the history of Dubrovnik.
