NATURAL RECOURSES AS WASTE WATER PURIFYING ADSORBENTS
In this paper process of water self – cleaning has been simulated by purification of colorized waste water by means of biological filter as adsorbent made from natural resources: chopped oak bark, soil, sand and CaCO3. Two dyestuff of known chemical constitution, were used: C.I. Direct Red 173 and C.I. Acid Blue 9. Results obtained showed that self – cleaning process (natural resources adsorptivity) depend on temperature and pH but also on size and spherical constitution of molecule. Except biological purifying processes, decolourisation by Fenton reagent was performed, which causes more rapid decolourisation. However, determination of COD and BOD5 values results in lower values after Fenton reagent treatment, which confirm biological degradation, performed by nature, as longer process than those of chemical degradation used in practice. In a benefit of quality of water all efforts are aimed in combining of all disposal method of colourised waste water purification.
