How Smart the Drones Should be, to be useful in the Smart Cities?
System of partially autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles, popularly called drones, may significantly contribute to improving the level of living in the complex, modern cities. In this paper a generic, simplified yet representative, system of unmanned flying vehicles is formulated. Its performance in a canonical model of a complex and modern, smart city is critically estimated based upon the internal and external criteria. In particular, on the one side the contribution of such a system to better adaptation, robustness and efficacy of a city in relation with its environment is evaluated. On the other hand, same characteristics of the system of drones in relation with the city are evaluated. Paper ends with guidelines for prospective realisations of such systems.
