BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE IN INDUSTRY

Business intelligence is making decisions based on the data collected and pro- cessed in the selected information. Though the term business intelligence has been used for a number of years, it was not established in practice until the mid-1990s. The reason for this was the development of the Internet and easier access to expo- nentially increasing amounts of available data. This paper deals with the method of collecting data, transforming it into information, and making decisions based on it in purchasing, sales, and financial operations, the most important segments of the industry.
