Non-metallic inclusions removal by centrifugal force in ccm tundish
A mathematical modeling of the efficiency of steel refining from non-metallic inclusions by centrifugal forces has been carried out. It has been found that the velocity of rotation of 45 rpm in a chamber with a radius of 350 mm allows inclusions removal of at least 200 μm to the axial zone of the chamber. As it has been shown through physical modeling the method allows creating rotation of liquid steel with the velocity at least 25 rpm that can be increased through a re- design of casting chamber.
