Diagnostical procedure on patients with infective mononucleosis

Infective monoculeosis (IM) or lat. Monooculeosis infectiva (other names glandular fever, The illness of first kiss) is an accute ilness of recituloendotel and limfatic system of viral etiology. The appearance and frequency of IM depend on socio-economical chances and life age when primar infection occurs. The illness is more comon in economicaly developed countries rather than in those in process of development. Serological research has cleared out that phenomenon. This research had covered 10 patients with IM EBV diagnosis, and they were treated on infective clinic in periods from january-july 2006. Clinical symptoms among all patients were observed and were treated with certain laboratorical researches. The movement of average values of general number of leukocites per days of illness was observed. It is known that the sucessfull treatment of viral illness, including IM, rests on fast and precise diagnosis. Using anamnesis and fisical treatment of patients, it is not too hard to determine clinical symptoms of illness, but for determination of precise diagnosis, laboratory diagnostic is mandatory and it often includes hematological, biochemical, microbiological, serological and other laboratory researches, performed separately or combined. The proper and aimed selection of certain necessary laboratory researches based on diagnostical procedures used and performed on our clinic can greatly accelerate determination of diagnosis and in that way improve the efficiency in general treatment.
