HEALTH EDUCATION IN PRIMARY SCHOOL FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF NURSES AND TEACHERS
The aim of this study was to examine nurses and teachers opinions toward health education in school. Also, this study examines differences betwen participants opinions about the health education implementation ways in relation to their age, gender and profesional orientation and regarding chronological age and gender of pupils. The research is structured as cross- sectional study. A total sample is conducted of 254 nurses and teachers. The results point out significantly differences between nurses and teachers opinions about health education. Teachers have a significantly more prominent opinion about health education implementation in schools and the need to carry out in early school classes. Nurses significantly more consider that health education should be implemented as a separate subject and beyond school institutions. Nurses also consider that health education as a separate school subject should be carried out by health care professionals. As shown in the results, nurses and teachers differ significantly in their opinions regarding the place and the beginning of health education. Also, there are pointed differences in opinions regarding sex and age of respondents. Nevertheless, nurses and teachers agree that the implementation of health education is necessary in school aged children population.
