Neuregulin-1 is increased in schizophrenia patients with chronic cannabis abuse: Preliminary results.
The aforementioned work was based on the study of the correlation between the level of several neurotrophins (BDNF, NRG-1 and NGF) and chronic cannabis abuse in patients with schizophrenia. Its importance is reflected through the first known established link between elevated NRG-1 levels and chronic cannabis abuse, which represents an extremely significant therapeutic and prognostic problem in the treatment of schizophrenia patients.
