Intercutlural learning throught eramus student moblity program

Erasmus mobility program is European project that provides opportunity for higher education students and staff in networking and gathering professional and social intercultural competences. Incoming and outgoing students have opportunity to attend courses at different universities all over the world. The main goals of this research is to explore the challenges and benefits for students who studied in foreign country. Students feedback are compared with feedback provided by officers from International relations unites in different countries. Respondents are 32 Erasmus University students from France and Belgium who spent the semester in Croatia, and Croatian students who participated in Erasmus program in some European countries. For the purpose of this research the questioner (IROQ) linked to student’s experiences is created. International relations officers participated at the interview and share their opinion about advantages and challenges of Erasmus program. Students feedback is analyzed in terms of gender differences, motivation and goals that student’s tray to accomplished. Students evaluation of quality Erasmus exchange program is explored. Results showed that students from difference countries evaluated Erasmus program differently, their level of satisfaction depends on intercultural experiences. The gender differences in choosing Erasmus program are commented. International relations officers reported that Erasmus program is very useful for students, their perception of quality is high, but there are also some additional issues that could be improved (like overlapping curriculum, exam deadlines, flexibility in academic calendar etc.). Results could be used for planning and creating Erasmus preparatory workshops about student’s challenges and opportunities. Students international experiences could be valuable information for creating Erasmus mobility.
