Prolegomenon: widening scientific career studies

The introductory chapter analyses the relationship between scientific career studies and STS (science & technology studies), especially in the context of the need for a broader approach to researching scientific careers. It also presents the concept and structure of the book and moreover develops tentative conclusions (synthesis) that could be drawn from the research findings of the studies included.
