The role of deconcentrated state administration in migration policy
In terms of the academic research, a vast majority of works on migration focus on the state level, and more recently on the European level policies, while the migration and integration policies have rarely been examined from the perspective of state administration in the territory. This paper is trying to take a step towards filling that gap, by analysing contemporary development, roles and organization of deconcentrated state administration and researching of the role of the deconcentrated state administration in migration and integration policies in selected European countries. The research has shown that deconcentrated state administrations are becoming increasingly important actors in migration and integration affairs. It is argued that there are administrative-technical and interest-political reasons for broader inclusion of the deconcentrated state administration in migration and integration policies.
