Introduction of biodegradable polymeric materials in the production of printing plates

The aim of this research was to produce the printing plate for embossing process made from biodegradable materials. The materials that were used for preparation of polymeric blends were PLA (polylactic acid), PCL (poly(ε-caprolactone)) and coconut fibers. Characterization of obtained blends was performed by measuring of their different mechanical properties. For visual assessment, 2D and 3D analysis of polymer materials and printing lates was carried out. Prepared blends were tested in embossing process for production of relief printed image. The results have shown that there is a great potential in usage of prepared blends for production of printing plates.
