Comorbidity of ADHD in children and adolescents in Croatia
Most of the people that suffer from ADHD have at least one additional diagnosis. ADHD can have any condition or disorder as its comorbidity but certain conditions appear more often than others. Those are learning difficulties, depression, anxiety, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, tic disorder and Tourette syndrome, eating disorder, sleeping disorder (Robin & Barkley, 1998.). The first aim of this research was to examine comorbidity of ADHD among children and adolescents who came to Centre for rehabilitation of Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences of University of Zagreb. The second aim was to get insight about cognitive profile (WISC IV Scale) of children with ADHD. The sample consists of 183 children and adolescents with ADHD diagnose who came to Centre for rehabilitation of Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences of University of Zagreb. Through reading assessment reports of children and adolescents it was examined whether they have additional diagnosis, if so, what are they and how many are there. About 50% of children have some working memory problems and 40% have problems in speed information processing. Results of this study were compared with research results from other countries.
