Curriculum development in theory and practice: foreign languages in the field of law
In its introductory part, the paper will present an overview of the stages in curriculum development, from the initial needs analysis to the stages of teaching materials development and evaluation of results, discussing the main underlying theoretical principles and methodologies. The second part of the paper will present LSP curriculum development for different types of target learners provided by the Center for Language and Law. The Center was established at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, as the main result of the Tempus project „Foreign Languages in the Field of Law“ (2006-2009) belonging to the category of curriculum development joint European projects. Its activities have continued to develop after the successful completion of the project. The paper will describe in detail the activities that have been carried out within the framework of the Tempus project and outline the present activities of the Centre.
