Towards the achieving SDGs: Administrative capacities for integration of migrants on local level

This article aims to analyse the administrative capacities of local units for integration of migrants in countries which are considered as traditionally non-immigrant countries, linking the quality of local governance, sustainable development and integration. The empirical study is conducted on the example of Croatia, which in recent years gradually becomes an immigration country, with a modest increase in the number of migrants. The administrative capacities are analysed around four issues that are considered as crucial for integration policy - delivery, regulatory, coordination and analytical capacities. It is concluded that it is necessary to develop local administrative capacities in order to respond to the individual needs of migrants.
