Evaluation of wines in Istria using classical and CMEC methods
Several methods (from Buxbaum to Vedel) were used for evaluation of istrian autochthonous wines (istrian malvazija, Muscat momjanski and desert wine Muscat rose of Porec), and lately also CIMEC method. CIMEC method, beside organoleptic evaluation includes also some economical factors, a prference, production coast, product price and profit. These elements are included in evaluation of four istrian Malvazija wines: 1) traditionally produces wine ; 2) wine produced in a big cellar ; 3) wine produced by a smaller producer of high quality wines (production according to specific markets), 4) and 5) wine produced in the Institute using a modern technology and enologic means (autochthonous yeasts). Results are presented trough indicators of product quality: - organoleptic indicators, - acceptability (preference) of market, - production costs, - products price and - profit.
