The Influence of Printing Materials and Printing Techniques on the efficiency of the Paper Recycling Process
Because great majority of solid waste originates from paper and bord, which has great influence on the quality of the environment, the economy and energy, the recycling of waste paper is becoming a more important industrial branch. The profitable conversion of this relatively abundant and cheap raw material into high quality products demands the development of efficient and secure processes. In particular, the removal of ink, i.e. toner, is one of the critical problems. This article shows the influence of printing materials and printing techniques on deinking flotation. Possible problems in the recycling process have been systemised as stickies, prints with water-based inks, UV inks and varnishes, conventional varnishes and office wastepaper. Contemporary solutions for the described problems are suggested.
