Views of Dalmatian Cities and Architectural Monuments fot the Publication The Austro-Hungarian Monarchy in Words and Pictures - Voume Dalmatia
The Austro-Hungarian Monarchy in Words and Pictures (Die österrichisch-ungarische Monarchie in Wort und Bild), an all-encompassing survey of the lands within the Monarchy, was initiated by Crown Prince Rudolf von Habsburg in 1883. The volume Dalmatia, published in 1892, consists of 117 illustrations. From the entire corpus of illustrations and illustrators who worked on the volume Dalmatia, the article presents the contirbutions of tive authors who executed drawings of motifs from five important cities on the Dalmatian coast: Zadar, Šibenik, Trogir, Split, and Dubrovnik, thus recording their key architectural monuments more than a hunderd and twenty years ago.
