Monte Librić, regionality in context
The aim of this research was to study attitudes toward bilingual-ism and the respect for diversity in the regional context anddetermine if there are differences in attitudes with regard torespondents’certain socio-demographic characteristics, all follow-ing the example of the literary manifestation for children namedMonte Libric. Numerous authors think that multilingualism andmulticulturality are reflected through the educational system andreadiness to train and encourage pupils at all levels of educationto develop their own identity and respect the diversity of otheridentities. As many as 306 respondents participated in theresearch, namely teachers, pupils, preschool teachers, studentsand parents. Results have shown the value of linguistic expressionin the mother tongue (Croatian and Italian), linguistic education, multiculturality, respect for diversity, cultural identity and thevalue of children’s creativity in the regionality context, as well asthe role of identity, language and culture in encouraging thechildren’s/pupils’/students’development
