Organizational sets of exercises with the aim of increasing physiological workload among preschool children

This paper deals with the influence of different organizationalsets of exercises on physiological workload of preschool children. The aim of this paper is to affect the physiological workload of children through thirty-five different motor tasks that were conducted in five organizationalsets of exercises (simple organizational sets consisted of: individual work, work in pairs and parallel set, while complex organizational sets consisted of: alternating set and polygon barriers) and by doing so determine which of them achieve the greatest physiological workload measured in pulse readings, i.e. whether there are significant differences between them. Research was conducted on a sample of 16 children from a mixed educational group (4-6 years) in the “Leptirić Lu” kindergarten in Zagreb for a period of two weeks. Friedman’s Anova was used to determine differences between exercise sets in all exercises. The results show statistically significant differences in physiological workload between all organizationalsets of exercises. The highest physiological load was achieved in the alternating set with the highest pulse (143) in the motor exerciseof running with a change of direction, while the lowest pulse (121)was achieved in the parallel set in the exerciseof two-leg jumping from hoop to hoop. The results confirm the assumption that the physiological load significantly varies depending on which organizationalset of exercises the motor activities are organized in, and for which teaching purposes it is recommended to apply the kind of organizationalset of exercises most beneficial for the goal of a particular activity, i.e. that depends on the intensity (workload) which we are trying to achieve in children.
