Kakovostno poučevanje na področju naravoslovja

Natural science competences are necessary for the development and advancement of modern society. In most countries of the world there is a need for education in the field of natural science, but at the same time there is a decline in students’ interest in content from that field, and a lack of interest in continuing their education in the field of natural science. The didactic imperative of natural science is to find solutions for creating quality, creative, stimulating teaching that would direct students toward education in natural science. The aim of this paper is to address the problem of organizing quality, effective teaching of natural science from a didactic perspective, and, by reviewing pedagogically and didactically relevant literature, focusing on the different approaches to the teaching of natural science, to analyse them and present the models that are applied in countries that address the aforementioned problem differently. Another aim is to reform the process of teaching natural science, and integrate the basic characteristics of quality science teaching that appear in the reviewed literature.
